Benefit of Membership

• The opportunity to shop from a massive range, usually unobtainable in Keynsham.

• Get from 20% to 40% discount for bulk buying.
• Save time and fuel with less shopping trips.
• Put in a regular order for products you use a lot, then add other items to your order or not as you need.

• Easy ordering via email.
• Split cases of less used items, with other members.

Benefits to the Environment

• Shopping through a co-op reduces your impact on the environment in at least three ways:

  1. Trips to the supermarket are greatly decreased, thus saving fuel and also the food miles that supermarkets clock up through importation and distribution.

2. By buying in bulk the amount of packaging used is reduced leading to less waste.

3. A majority of the goods are organic, thus supporting sustainable and harmonious farming.

• Supporting local co-ops like
Essential Trading puts money back into your community. As they stock fairly-traded products where possible, sustainable practices are being supported with farmers abroad.

How it works

• A food co-operative is simply a group of people who get together to buy in bulk at a discounted rate.

• Members place an order every few weeks, (four to six depending on demand).

• Place and pay for your order one week before delivery

• Collect your order two to three days after delivery
